How can technology help empower women to better understand menopause and access the right support for their individual needs at the right time?

Lumino

The solution

2.5 million people in the UK are experiencing significant menopausal symptoms. Symptoms can last 7 years or more, including hot flushes, night sweats and sleep problems.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is proven to help. However, access is poor.

Seren is Lumino's prototype digital therapeutic for menopause symptoms.

The Opportunity

The digital therapeutics market is growing quickly, at a rate of 26.1% a year. The global market is on course to be worth £27.4 billion by 2030. The commercial opportunity for Lumino in the menopause space is significant. The global menopause market is worth £12 billion pounds a year. 21 million people, across the UK, North America and Europe are currently experiencing significant menopause-related symptoms. Currently there is no clinically validated digital therapeutic on the market for menopause related symptoms.

Next Steps

Over the next twelve months, Lumino will be working with their Challenge Sponsors to develop the launch version of Seren and make that available to both NHS patients and those working in the wider Scottish public sector.
